The beginning…… Chad and I closed on our 86 acre property at 355 Berry Road on tax day, April 15, 2015. Dechaunac, Marechal Foch, Seyval Blanc and Leon Millot are now all connected to trellis wire. It’s a long tedious process, digging a hole for the posts, putting up the wire, putting a pole for each individual vine to climb, then attaching the vine to the pole (I like bread ties). In all it’s probably around 350 vines that have been set up. And it only took two and a half years to get those done! No hurry though, you can’t rush wine….
Though our focus has been on barn weddings, gearing up for the Augusta wedding show happening this Sunday January 15, the barn will also be available for other functions.
